I am a fragrance fanatic. So much so, that my medicine cabinet real estate is extremely valuable to me. When I go about selecting a new scent, I try to fill a void, much like in a wardrobe, in an effort to find something inspiring, exciting and unique.

I love the work of Bertrand Duchaufour, the author of Paestum Rose by Eau d'Italie: the niche house created by the owners of the legendary Le Sirenuse hotel in Positano, Italy. Inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman city of Paestum, this fragrance is mesmerizing, subtle, unisex and completely modern. The rose note, while clearly present, does not define this fragrance. It is neither dry nor sweet, but lies somewhere perfectly balanced. I've worn it every day since my purchase.

From the Aedes website:

Extolled by Virgil and considered sacred for their divine beauty, the roses of Paestum, a town near modern day Naples, inspire the new fragrance by Eau d'Italie. Like a precious offering, Paestum Rose is presented on a luxurious layer of dusky incense. The silky petals of rose are touched with the sweetness of myrrh and the resinous warmth of black pepper, while the transparent floral nuances of osmanthus and peony contrast with the sensual darkness of cedar and wenge woods creating a memorable composition.

Available at Aedes here.

An intriguing choice of scent! Actually, as I am sure you know, all scents are unisex. Male and female perfumes are just marketing ideas.
I would like to know your opinion on the following scent: narciso rodriguez for him, if you spare the time for a comment, of course.
I didn't dare to buy it at first and opted for Opium... I know, not very Summerlike... Two days later I went back and got it. I feel happy now :)

I adore rose fragrances. Currently in love with Frederic Malle's Une Rose... would like to try this one.
